Useful Information

FENSA

Why should homeowners buy from a FENSA approved company?

If your installer is a member of a government Authorised  Competant Persons Scheme such as FENSA, firms approved as a FENSA member will have undergone strict vetting procedures and are routinely inspected to ensure building regulation complianceis maintained.

Always ensure that the Glazing and Door company are a member of FENSA this will encourage more companies to sign up and reduce rouge traders in the market.

This will give the customer greater confidence and create a stronger more unified industry.

HIP

Guide To Energy Ratings

Guide To Energy Ratings For Windows

What is Energy Rating?

A window’s rating is determined by a formula which takes into account available solar heat gains  subtracts the thermal losses.

Window Energy Rating= Solar Gains – Thermal Losses + Air Leakage.

This is then placed into a band on A-G scale consistent with other energy performance labels already familiar to the consumer

Did you know… The thermal insulation provided by low emissivity double glazing is 25% more efficient than that of standard double glazing. PLANITHERM boasts one of the lowest rates of heat loss, easily complying with building regulations.

All of our Windows contain Planitherm.

As Thermsure we strive to be a socially responsible business all of our Windows achieve a minimum Energy Rating of A and we can offer A++

BENEFITS OF ENERGY RATING
Growing concern for climate change and increasing energy costs to the consumer are contributing to the rapidly growing market for energy efficient products. Following WER (window energy rating) certification windows can now be added to the list of environmentally responsible options available to the end-user.
